Customize Nurse Charting Pro to match your facility's unique workflows, protocols, and requirements.

Charting Categories

Default Categories

Nurse Charting Pro includes standard charting categories based on common nursing protocols:

• Environment & Status
• Mental & Emotional
• Thought & Behavior
• Safety Assessment
• Speech & Interactions
• Function & Daily Living
• Medical & Monitoring
• Summary & Monitoring

Customizing Categories

Administrators can customize charting categories to match facility protocols:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Charting Configuration
  2. Tap "Manage Categories"
  3. Add new categories or edit existing ones
  4. Configure category fields and checkboxes
  5. Set required vs. optional fields
  6. Save changes to apply across your facility

Category Templates

Choose from pre-built category templates for different care settings:

  • Med-Surg Nursing
  • Critical Care
  • Long-Term Care
  • Assisted Living
  • Rehabilitation

User Permissions & Roles

User Roles

Assign team members to roles with appropriate permissions:

Administrator

Full access to all features, settings, and configuration. Manages users, facility settings, and billing.

Manager

Can manage team assignments, view reports, and configure charting categories. Cannot modify billing or facility settings.

Nurse/Caregiver

Can chart patients, manage their assignments, generate narratives, and view their shift history.

Read-Only

Can view charts and reports but cannot make changes or create new entries.

Managing Users

  1. Navigate to Settings > User Management
  2. Tap "Invite User" to add new team members
  3. Enter email address and assign a role
  4. User receives invitation email with setup instructions
  5. Edit or remove users as needed from the user list

Notifications & Reminders

Configuring Reminders

Set up smart reminders to ensure no rounds are missed:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Notifications
  2. Enable "Round Reminders"
  3. Set rounding interval (e.g., every 1 hour, 2 hours)
  4. Choose notification preferences (sound, vibration)
  5. Configure quiet hours if needed

Notification Types

  • Round Reminders: Scheduled patient check reminders
  • Incomplete Charts: Alerts for unfinished charting
  • Shift Handoff: Notification when handoff reports are ready
  • Team Updates: Alerts from team members or administrators

Push Notification Preferences

Customize how and when you receive notifications:

  • Enable/disable notifications by type
  • Set quiet hours for off-shift times
  • Choose notification sound and vibration patterns
  • Configure badge and lock screen settings

Facility Settings

General Configuration

Configure facility-wide settings for your organization:

  • Facility name and contact information
  • Time zone and shift scheduling parameters
  • Default room/unit structure
  • Branding and custom logo (Enterprise)

Data Retention

Configure how long chart data is retained:

  • Set retention period for chart history
  • Configure automatic archival of old records
  • Export historical data before archival
  • Comply with your facility's record retention policies

Connect Nurse Charting Pro with your existing systems (Enterprise feature):

  • EMR/EHR integration configuration
  • FHIR API endpoints
  • Single Sign-On (SSO) setup
  • Third-party service connections
